These costs may be added to your grooming total based on your preference and/or groomer's discretion. Total cost will reflect time and/or labor needed to complete the groom.
De-Matting
In rare cases, we may consider de-matting as an option. These may include situations where matting is light or concentrated on small areas of the body. Because of the labor, skill, tool wear and large amounts of product necessary, de-matting is charged at $1 per minute plus a $20-$35 product/tool fee.
Nervous, Senior, Difficult Pets
We are happy and willing to work with nervous, senior and behaviorally difficult animals. We have many clients that fit this description and do our best to tailor the groom to fit their needs/comfort. There may be an additional fee if extra time or skill is needed to accommodate your pet.
Severely Matted Coats
If a dog is severely matted, we strongly advise against de-matting as the process is painful and lengthy. The best option for a severely matted coat is a close shave. It is important to remove the matted coat as mats are painful and can cause bruising and cuts, skin conditions and can even harbor bug infestations. The process of removing a matted coat requires extreme skill to do safely and often takes extra time. For this reason, there may be an additional fee.
